The hospital provides emergency and acute care services across 54 medical specialties to a local community of some 290,000 people. In addition, they are a Designated Cancer Centre and the Regional Treatment Centre for Ear, Nose and Throat, and Gastroenterology. I had a really good experience in the A and E department on December 28th. I was in at 2.30am and out at 9.30am. I had blood tests, X rays, and the staff were great.
The majority of staff I encountered were absolutely outstanding. They were extremely professional, hardworking, very caring, and helpful. From Admissions through to the Ward, the staff were outstanding.
The hospital treated my da for pneumonia and my granda for lung cancer, and they were out soon. The care provided was good and efficient.
Only two visitors per patient are allowed during routine visiting hours, and children under the age of 16 years are not permitted to visit except in exceptional circumstances. Visitors and patients must adhere to good hand hygiene practices and wear a facemask when visiting wards and other clinical areas. Visitors can also take an antigen test prior to attending the hospital as an additional protective measure.
